Bugetta Reads Too Much

Books are my passion and I spend most of my free time reading. I recently discovered audio books which opened up a whole new way of fitting reading into my day. I read a lot of romance and Urban Fantasy these days. I recently discovered M/M Romance and have been reading a lot of that lately. I also like to read non-fiction for a change of pace and enjoy memoirs or books about history or science.

Butterfly Swords - Jeannie Lin 3.5* I wanted to like this book more than I actually did and I can't figure out what the problem was. I liked the h/h, the setting was really cool -- it was great to read a historical romance not set in England during the Regency, but it wasn't one of those books I just had to keep reading. Maybe I just wasn't in the right mood? I have another one of the Tang Dynasty books in my tbr, so I will probably give this author another chance since the books are short and theoretically right up my alley. :)
Visions of Heat - Nalini Singh This book was just okay. As much as I loved the really interesting, complex world building, that didn't make up for my serious dislike of the overbearing, possessive alpha male hero and the somewhat bland heroine. I have almost all the books in this series, so I'm going to give the next one a try but I'm thinking maybe PNR is just not for me.
Where Dreams Begin - Lisa Kleypas 3.5*
A Dangerous Thing - Josh Lanyon 4.5*
Warrior's Cross - Madeleine Urban 3.5* Good story but the romance didn't really work for me. I liked the suspense plot and I am looking forward to seeing Cam and Julian again in Armed & Dangerous.
Sky Runners - Fae Sutherland 3.5
Far Too Human - Anitra Lynn McLeod 3.5* Okay romance. Had the usual problem of a novella -- not enough time for character development to make romance believable, but it was entertaining.
How to Dance With a Duke - Manda Collins, Anne Flosnik 3.5* A cute historical romance with a mystery plot.
Sticks & Stones - Abigail Roux, Madeleine Urban I love this series! Ty and Zane are such complex, interesting characters and the situations the find themselves in. wow! Now onto the next one!
Headed for Trouble - Suzanne Brockmann 3.5*
The Trap - Indigo Wren 3.5*
Small Medium And Large - Cheryl Brooks 3.5*
Deadlocked (Sookie Stackhouse, #12) - Charlaine Harris, Johanna Parker 3.5*
The Laird's Forbidden Lover - Amelia C. Gormley 3.5* Sweet romance but I didn't like how it skipped back to the past every other chapter.
The Iron Duke - Meljean Brook I have really mixed feelings about this book. I need to ponder a bit before I write my review.
Storm Front - Jim Butcher, James Marsters 3.5* I had a lot of fun getting to know Harry Dresden and will definitely be back for more! I love the mix of fantasy and mystery. Because it was the first of the series, there was a lot of world building, so it was a bit slow in parts, but it was still a lot of fun. I'm looking forward to learning more about Harry and they myriad of secondary characters introduced too.
